Quicker Lab Services

Once the dentist takes impressions of your teeth, he or she will send the data to the dental laboratory. The appliance is designed to match the other natural teeth and fit the gap perfectly. The prosthetic is manufactured in the laboratory and sent to the practice for installation.

With the advancements made in the field of dentistry and dental laboratory facilities, patients do not have to wait for a long time. Today, the production of the necessary prosthesis and component is possible within a couple of hours.

CEREC Systems

CEREC is the short term for Chairside economical restoration of esthetic ceramic systems and is available in many dental practices today. This is a computer-aided design and assisted milling system. With this procedure, treatments that usually take over a couple of days can be finished within an hour.

Three Components

The CEREC system comprises of three components. The first is a high-quality camera, also called an acquisition device. This also includes a computer system that takes three-dimensional photographs of the teeth or tooth. The second one is a 3D software, which helps analyse the 3D photo in a 360-degree angle. The appliance also has a milling device. This creates a prosthetic from a pre-set ceramic block that has the colour of natural teeth.

Technology allows for the development of new systems and treatments in modern dentistry. The future looks bright for dentists, dental laboratories and patients.
